Snow Removal Information
Snow Removal
Remember when you shovel out your sidewalks, driveways, and parking spaces not to place the snow on the sidewalk, roads or empty parking spaces where it would be a hazard to others. If at all possible, place the snow in an open area where it will not be a problem to pedestrians or traffic. Be sure not to block mailboxes or fire hydrants. Please be extra careful when walking in icy areas.
The townhouse owners are responsible for removing snow from their private sidewalks, and any parking spaces they use. The townhouse owners need to be especially careful not to shovel snow on the sidewalks. The snow blowers cannot get through heavy snow. Also if there are newspapers in plastics wrapping on the sidewalk or parking lot, please pick these up as the newspapers can clog and even damage the snow blowers.
The single family owners are responsible for removing snow from their private sidewalks, driveways, and the public sidewalk in front of their houses. (The City of Westminster actually owns these sidewalks, but the law requires that the homeowner removes the snow.)
The HOA is responsible for removing snow from any public sidewalks that the HOA owns. Because it is extremely expensive to have excess snow removed and hauled away from the parking lots and streets, the HOA is not financially able to do so.
The City of Westminster is responsible for snow removal on all of the roads.
